Plunkett travelled to Ballymena Showgrounds to play Carniny Youth in a game that could so easily have proved to be a possible "banana skin" coming straight after our super win against champions Linfield.
The 1st half proved this to be a possibility as Carniny were not there just to make up the numbers and made life very tough for Plunkett. We couldn't get our passing going the way we would have liked but games are like that at times. We did however get a goal right on half time when Josh was emptied in the box and Ben stepped up for his 6th goal of the season.
Half Time 1-0
The 2nd half was quite a different story as after a firm and honest chat we went out to play some quite magnificent football. It was a joy at times as we kept the ball and scored some excellent goals. Joe came on to get 2 and he could have had 3 or 4, Magic also notched 2 and ripped the Carniny boys to shreds, Josh popped up with a typical Josh goal and an own goal made it 7-0
Goals are coming from everywhere and our stats make interesting reading as everyone is chipping in with goals which is vital if we are to continue our decent start.
Well done especially the 4 subs in Joe, Jody, Philly and Levi who all came on 2nd half and proved now we have a very strong squad, capable of playing in any position asked of them.
Tough game on saturday against Davy and his Ballymoney side and we will need to be at our best if we want to keep our 100% start to the season in tact.
Well done
